Dev Motwani is Managing Partner of Chieftain Properties, a FL-based real estate investment and development firm focused on commercial properties with significant redevelopment value in A+ locations. The firm has been extremely active with new acquisitions totally over $50 million since 2010. Dev also serves as Co-President and CFO of Merrimac Ventures. His responsibilities include overseeing the operations for the firm's real estate and hotel operations, handling all financings and legal aspects of the business, and overseeing the firm's development plans.

Dev is a partner with the 2012 Lauderdale Air Show, All American Windows and Doors, Florida Aluminum Products and MMD Realty.

Prior to his current role Dev worked at Credit Suisse in New York City, where he first structured OTC Equity Derivative trades for the firm's largest corporate clients and then for the firm's largest hedge fund clients. He has also spent significant time working in politics, having worked in the White House Office of the Vice President in 2000, the Gore/Lieberman 2000 Campaign, and has also worked with the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign.

Dev plays an active role in the Fort Lauderdale Community, through his involvement with numerous charities, currently serving on the board of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Riverwalk Trust, and Broward County's Small Business Advisory Board (appointed by Commissioner Chip Lamarca). In 2011, Dev served as Co-Chair for the Bonnet House's Annual Impressions Fundraiser, the Ghost Light Society's Annual Soiree, and the Jeb Bush Classic Beach Bash benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He is also a member of the Construction Executives Association of South Florida.

Dev recently served as chair of the City of Fort Lauderdale's Economic Development Advisory Board (appointed by Mayor Jack Seiler), and recently served on the Board of the Historic Bonnet House, the Broward Housing Partnership's Community Land Trust, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the Broward Housing Partnership Board and was Vice President of the Golden Square Association, a group comprised of business owners in the Fort Lauderdale Beach area.

Dev graduated from Duke University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics and Public Policy and from Columbia University's Masters of Science in Real Estate Development Program.
