Nitin Motwani is Co-President of Merrimac Ventures. He has grown up in the real estate world and gained extensive experience in highly visible, large-scale real estate development projects. His expertise spans property acquisition, repositioning, management, entitlements, finance and development. During his 20 years in South Florida, Nitin has established a strong professional network and acquired significant market intelligence through his involvement in some of South Florida’s most prestigious projects. interests with respect to the entitlement process for a 5-star condominium hotel to replace the existing hotels and, following the city approval, helped to successfully negotiate and execute a joint venture with the prominent New York-based Trump Organization. As a partner on that development, Nitin oversaw timelines, budgets, and broker agreements. Nitin has gone on to identify, finance and acquire additional new projects – valued at over $70 Million – in the Fort Lauderdale area. Prior to developing the Trump International Hotel and Tower, Nitin was an equity derivatives trader at Goldman Sachs in New York. He also spent part of his career with North Carolina developer Zapolski & Rudd, focusing on office parks and shopping centers. Nitin, also a principal at the Miami Worldcenter Group, was brought in to manage one of the world’s largest mixed use projects, responsible for land acquisition, assembling an internal team, engaging internationally renowned consultants, and arranging financing on behalf of the privately held multi-billion-dollar organization. An active member of the greater Miami business community, Nitin currently serves as a member of the board of the Miami Downtown Development Authority, the Inter-American Development Bank Miami 2008 Executive Committee, and the 2008 U.S. Conference of Mayors Host Committee. Nitin is also Miami Worldcenter Group’s representative at the Miami Beacon Council and a member of the Urban Land Institute. Nitin earned a Bachelors degree in International Relations from Duke University and holds a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. He is a resident of South Florida. |
